Small editorial team reviewing business reports at a shared table

Our story

Why we started harmabiben

harmabiben began as an internal reading list, shared between a handful of small business owners who kept sending each other explainers on cash flow, financial statements and pricing decisions. We noticed how much of that material was either overly technical or written to promote a specific software product.

We built harmabiben to sit in between: written for a general reader, factually careful, and free of any commercial agenda. The website has been maintained and expanded since 2018, one article at a time.

What guides us

Our editorial principles

No commercial bias

harmabiben does not sell financial products, software or paid advisory services. We have no affiliate arrangements with banks, lenders or vendors.

Plain language first

If a concept can't be explained without jargon, we haven't finished writing it. Technical and accounting terms are always defined in context.

General, not personal

Everything we publish is general information. We do not offer individual financial, tax, accounting or legal advice, and we say so clearly.

Who we are

The people behind harmabiben

harmabiben is run by a small, independent editorial team with backgrounds in corporate finance, small business operations and financial journalism. Articles are reviewed before publication and updated when facts or figures change.

Editorial review

Every guide is checked for clarity and factual accuracy before it goes live, and reviewed periodically after publication.

Based in Switzerland

Our team works from Zug, Switzerland, though the content we publish is written for a general, international audience.

Reader-funded outlook

The site is supported by minimal, non-intrusive advertising rather than product sales, so our incentives stay aligned with readers.
